‘SHOO BOP !!! SHOO BOP !!! RAMA LAMA DING DONG! “

On Wednesday May 17, 2023 the Peninsula Ukulele Group will present “Doo Wop Uke”, our latest Meetup at the Belmont Public Library at 6 PM. Glenn and the Flea Street Band will lead us through Doo Wop Classics from the 50’s and 60’s and we’ll add in a few Doo Wop influenced songs from the 60’s and 70’s like “The Longest Time” by Billy Joel.

Doo wop is a music style of rhythm and blues which was a big part of early rock an roll music in the mid 50’s to the early 60’s. The Doo Wop groups played mostly love songs with simple chord progressions, engaging melodies and great harmonies.

So join us. It will be a lot of fun. This will be an excellent Meetup for players of all skill levels. This is a great one for ukulele beginners as we’ll be playing a lot of 4-8 chord songs this evening.
